Annually, the Purdue Women in Agriculture
(WIA) Team recognizes Indiana women who are leaders and innovators and have
contributed to the success of Indiana Agriculture. Currently, the Purdue WIA
Team is accepting applications for the 2021 Purdue Women in Agriculture Awards.
Nominees will be placed in either the
Leadership or Achievement categories for award consideration as deemed appropriate
by the WIA Team. Additionally, the
Emerging Women in Ag Leadership Award recognizes our high school and undergrad
college students that are making an impact on agriculture.
Previous winners include women with
integral roles in their personal and/or family farm business, corporate and
non-profit leaders, educators, veterinarians, and women in public service
roles.
Winners will be recognized at the Indiana
State Fair and will receive a complimentary registration and overnight
accommodation at the Midwest Women in Agriculture conference in the year after
their award is presented.
The Purdue Extension Women in Agriculture awards committee was co-chaired by Lori Bouslog, and Extension educator in Vermillion County, and Beth Vansickle, an Extension educator in Madison County. The Purdue Extension Women in Agriculture team provides educational opportunities and resources for women in the agriculture industry and coordinates the Midwest Women in Agriculture conference.
