Purdue Horticulture and Landscape Architecture is delighted to announce that David Barbarash has accepted our offer of a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture, effective August 15th.  David joins us from private practice in New York City and, prior to that, has had experience as a landscape designer in several architectural firms in New York and New Jersey where he had significant responsibility for management of large-scale projects.  He brings a wealth of experience in teaching, having had responsibility for instruction of computer graphics at SUNY-Syracuse for four years.  Throughout his professional career, David has had a long-standing scholarly interest in the science and technology of 3D visualization and in developing user-guided animations and design-presentation tools.

Purdue Horticulture and Landscape Architecture is delighted to announce that Sean Rotar has accepted our offer of a faculty appointment as Assistant Professor of Landscape Architecture, effective August 15th.  Sean joins us from Ball State University, where he has been an instructor in their landscape architecture program since 2007.  He has taught very broadly throughout the Ball State curriculum, from introductory courses to senior capstone experiences, including both the technical aspects and design theory of landscape architecture.  Sean has been in professional practice since 2002 as a landscape designer and urban designer at firms in Illinois and Indiana.  His scholarly interests include historic landscapes as well as questions about how students learn disciplinary knowledge and professional skills in the LA studio environment.
