Graduate Student Profile
Jessica Merzdorf is a Master’s degree student, studying science communication under the guidance of Dr. Linda Pfeiffer. She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Purdue’s Speech, Language, and Hearing Science department and has a broad work and research background in communication, health care, and human sciences.
She currently works as a graduate assistant with Kevin Smith, writing for ASEC Connect, the department alumni magazine. In the past, she worked as a graduate research assistant in the Pfeiffer Lab, wrote for Purdue Agriculture’s Media Relations and Public Information Unit, and participated in research on a variety of topics, from language development in toddlers with cochlear implants to spousal communication in Indiana National Guard families.
