Rob Snorek came to Purdue with a diverse background. Prior to his arrival at Purdue he completed his Associate of Arts degree at North Hennepin State College (MN) and, after a four-year break to serve in the U.S. Coast Guard, he attended St. Cloud State University (MN) where he graduated with multi-level educational degrees in fine art and technical theatre. He taught in southwestern Minnesota for five years leaving to follow his wife to Minneapolis where she completed her Master’s degree. During this time he worked in the residential mortgage industry prior to moving to Lafayette. He began working in the area as a regional personnel administrator at a national mortgage institution returning to education in 1987 as an art teacher for the local county school system. The following year Snorek joined the AgComm team as a Technical Assistant for the exhibit shop. Since then he has advanced his way through the system to become a Senior Visual Designer. His responsibilities include designing two- and three-dimensional exhibits and teaching aids for the College of Agriculture and Purdue Extension. Additionally, he has collateral duties as the departmental safety chairperson, an exhibit/graphics instructor, and was a writer/managing editor for “On Target” the department’s educational communication-based newsletter.
