General Description: Granor Farms located in Three Oaks, MI is a 28-acre mixed vegetable farm that is Environmentally

Verified through the State of Michigan and is preparing for USDA Organic Certification this year. We are committed to

sustainable practices as both a business and an environmental steward. We are a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA)

focused farm that also participates in a variety of Farmer's Markets, Co-ops and other venues.

We're looking for energetic persons ready to engage in a professional growing environment as farming interns. Must have a

strong work ethic. Farm experience is preferred.

Internship Starts: May 1, 2011

Internship Ends: October 31, 2011

Number of Interns: 4

Application Deadline: Rolling.

Minimum Length of Stay: Two Months.

Meals: All meals will be provided on farm. We love cooking.

Skills Desired: Strong work ethic, attention to detail, ability to follow directions and flexibility (we work with what nature

gives us). Must be able to live, work, and eat in close quarters with up to 4 other interns. You should be able to lift 50 lbs,

work outside all day in all weather conditions ranging from hot and humid to cold and rainy. Must be able to interact

amiably with customers.

Educational Opportunities: We want interns to have opportunities to explore their own interests. When not in direct conflict

with farm work we encourage interns to look into attending conferences, and utilizing our own resources (books, manuals,

research papers). We are also excited to work with interns on farming oriented projects that they may want to pursue.

Stipend: $250-300 Month

Housing: Brand new loft bunks are available with shared common space for interns. All furnished.

Internship Details: Daily meetings between interns, workers and the farm manager will occur to begin and breakdown each

workday. The goal being to efficiently discuss work details and get each intern to where they can operate in a confidant

independent manner. Each intern will be expected to participate in every aspect of the farm.

Work will include greenhouse and field planting (both direct seeding and transplanting), weeding, IPM scouting,

harvesting, washing, packaging, loading and much more (especially weeding). Trips into Chicago and other locations to

help with the Farmer's Market and with the CSA deliveries will also be required. Interns will be expected to help with

cleaning and maintenance of grounds, personal and shared space.
