Northcentral Indiana family grain farm offering a summer internship for spring-summer of 2011. Scope of position involves all aspects of production agriculture, GPS tiling and griding, crop scouting, liquid and dry application, etc.
Background – Education:
Must have first hand experience and feel comfortable with production ag equipment. Knowledge of and willingness to learn about GPS equipment and practices. Able to assist in liquid and dry applications of ag inputs. Looking for individual with competence, common sense, and ability to make sound decisions on a daily basis.
Daily operation of large tillage machinery, planting equipment, and GPS technology. Assisting in appliation of plant nutrients thru dry, liquid and side-dress applications. Signing and grooming of fields. Plant and field scouting along with sampling. Limited record keeping and computer work.
Compensation according to experience and ability. Pay range from $10 to $14 per hour paid weekly. Hours vary according to weather and ample, but flexible. Housing negotiable and according to needs.
