The Public Policy Team at Indiana Farm Bureau focuses on educating members on
current agriculture and rural issues, engaging members in policy discussions and
interacting with local, state and national government officials to positively affect the
economic well being of our members.
Position 1: You will be working within the Public Policy Team and in cross-team
projects at Indiana Farm Bureau. This internship will primarily focus on developing
materials for issue specific meetings, planning and organizing information, and
research. You will be expected to work both independently and in group settings.
The position offers an opportunity to interact with industry groups, government
officials, and businesses and individuals related to production agriculture. An
understanding of politics and policy processes, current policy and agricultural issues,
and an agricultural background is helpful but not required. The pay rate is $12/hr.
Position 2: You will be working within the Public Policy Team and in cross-team
projects focused on rural development and local food projects. The internship will
focus on event planning, meeting set-up and some project research. You will be
expected to work independently and with large diverse groups. The position offers an
opportunity to build industry relationships. Knowledge of social media applications
and website design is also preferred but not required. Strong communication skills
and organizational skills are required; an agricultural background is helpful but not
required. The pay rate is $12/hr.
