Job Title: Farm IT Specialist/Agronomist
Who we are: Rohrs Farms is a family owned and operated farm in its sixth generation of operation. In 1974 our family
purchased land in Hardin County, Ohio, south of McGuffey. We grow several thousand acres of corn, corn silage,
soybeans, and the processing carrots. We produce approximately 500 acres of processing carrots each year, supplying
some of the largest companies in America. We also run a custom chopping operation, where we supply approximately
60 thousand tons of corn silage to a large dairy operation. Along with the application of 65 million gallons of liquid
Job Description & Duties: Established large family farm is seeking an Information Technician in Agriculture with
Agronomy background to oversee integrated farm management software and crop production activities for grain and
vegetable crops, and operate equipment. We are looking for an outgoing individual with solid computer skills, solid
leadership skills and strong attention to detail.
‐ Will work closely with the Owner and Farm General Manager and must be a motivated self‐starter.
‐ Conduct all necessary support of new or existing system application software.
‐ Maintain and keep organized records of all crop data uploaded/downloaded throughout the growing season
from JD APEX software application.
‐ Carry out special projects, such as updating/revising our website and other activities as required in all areas
of computer and networking needs in the office and in the field.
‐ This individual will evaluate soil samples, analyze fertilizer, seed, and add‐on products plant health and give
‐ Will also manage field personnel accordingly with scouting, analyze and coordinate applications of dry and
liquid fertilizers and chemicals. Maintaining all crop data throughout the growing season.
‐ This individual will also operate large late model farm machinery during peak season operations.
‐ Perform other duties as instructed.
Qualification: ‐ Familiar with JD APEX system software application or similar software.
‐ BS Agronomy degree, desired but not required
‐ Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management and team workmanship and
‐ Valid driver’s license.
Skills: ‐ Demonstrate good computer skills and knowledge of a wide range of Ag technology, MS applications
and other software.
‐ Knowledge of soil, fertilizers, chemicals, irrigation, insect disease and pests, Ag technology, as well
as spray applications.
‐ Good computer skills with working knowledge of MS applications and be familiar with or willing to
learn JD Apex Software.
