Kajal’s research focuses on topical policy issues related to gendered labor markets and household decision-making, agricultural mechanization, and human capital formation. The common theme underlying her past and current research, as well as future research goals, is to better measure and understand the implications of agricultural development and poverty alleviation programs.
Kajal holds a Ph.D. in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the University of California, Davis, a Masters in Public Administration from Cornell University, and a B.A. in Liberal Arts from Soka University of America.
