Since 2000, Liza Braunlich has been the Distance Education Specialist for the Center for Food and Agricultural Business where she works to deliver knowledge to audiences in Indiana and around the world using a variety of learning platforms. Liza manages the development and delivery of distance-delivered and web-supported programming, trains faculty, teaching assistants and students on the course tools used in distance delivery, identifies, evaluates and implements new features in distance delivered educational opportunities, determines the consistency of content and mapping of participant workloads, collects, assesses evaluation results and integrates feedback to improve curriculum and delivery, plans and develops websites for non-credit web supported courses and non-credit courses delivered totally via distance.

Liza worked in the hospitality industry prior to joining the College of Agriculture. She was the Food Service Director for the Purdue Hospitality and Tourism Management (HTM) Department, having total responsibility for operational and educational activities for food service operations within the restaurant and hotel management degree program, one of the largest food service management laboratories in the United States.

Liza was also a member of the 1998 opening team for Bellagio, Las Vegas where she developed, coordinated and administered performance-based instruction for line and executive positions (9,800 employees, 3000 rooms, project cost $1.7 billion) and the 1999 opening team for Paris, Las Vegas (4,200 employees, 3000 rooms, project cost $750 million).  Both casino projects involved working with hotel and casino executives to produce training materials for approximately 225 job positions.

Liza holds two Purdue University degrees; a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Tourism Management and a Master of Science degree in Instructional Research and Development.
