PurdueTHINK brings innovative solutions to Purdue student clubs

This past summer, Dane Chapman
(Junior; Agribusiness Marketing; Brookston, IN) participated in a business conference where many of the other students in attendance were interning with consulting firms such as Ernst & Young and Bane to name a few. After learning about what consulting is, Dane was interested in finding out more. So, he began looking into what a career with consulting would look like and after getting back to campus in the fall, a friend involved with PurdueTHINK contacted him to see if he would be interested in joining the consulting team.
PurdueTHINK is a client-centric consulting organization focused on building innovative solutions for the student clubs and administrative groups at Purdue University. Dane is very thankful for his friend connecting him to this group, because his experience with PurdueTHINK has been rewarding by teaching him many new things about business and the consulting world. He currently serves as a consultant on a project for the renovation of the Purdue Memorial Union. His team of four has been tasked with developing a survey and completing research on what students currently like about the Union and areas for improvement. They have been working with an architect firm in order to provide them with recommendations based on the student desires.
“I have been very impressed with the depth of strategy, thought, and organization that the organization and the members put into every aspect of each project,” Dane said. “From working alongside this team, I have sharpened my skills at analyzing problems differently and that has already helped me in my classwork.”
Dane highly recommends that all College of Agriculture students consider joining an organization that is outside of the college so you can gain another perspective and develop friendships with other students. For more information about PurdueTHINK, visit: https://web.ics.purdue.edu/~think/.
