A New Model of Discovery with Delivery

The Purdue University Agroecology Initiative embraces seamless interdisciplinary research and education approaches to understand and manage simultaneous optimization of productivity, natural resource use efficiency and environmental integrity at the intersection of agricuture and the environment.

To meet the increased global demand for food, feed, and fuel a new model of research is desperately needed.  As a component of Purdue's agroecology initiative, the USDA-funded LTAP project will address major, overarching research questions related to management impacts on interactions among soil nitrogen (N) and carbon (C), water use efficiency and the resultant ecosystem services (ES) from U.S. corn-based production.
