Welcome to the Agronomy Club
We are students at Purdue with a passion for the agronomy industry. Many of our members have farming backgrounds, some aren’t majoring in agriculture at all, but we all have an interest in agronomy. Anyone is welcome to join! For more information about our meetings check out the schedule
Congratulations to the Agronomy Club members who participated in the Farmer Olympics competition at the Purdue Ag Council Hog Roast. This was the first time the competition was held, glad agronomy could bring home the victory. Their WIN was recognized with a shovel.
Each year the Students of Agronomy, Soils, and Environmental Sciences (SASES) host a meeting for young professional interested in the agronomic industry. These meetings are held in conjunction with the American Society of Agronomy (ASA, CSSA, SSSA) meetings. Held in Long Beach, CA, our members competed extensively at the meetings. Some of our highlights included winning the quiz bowl competition and one of our members becoming a corresponding secretary. We also had the opportunity to hear the current World Food Prize Laureate, Dr. Sanjaya Rajaram, speak. Here is a complete document
of our trip, including accomplishments.
Every year the Purdue Ag Council selects one of many clubs in the College of Agriculture as the top club in the college. This year the Agronomy Club took that honor. As each club participates in events throughout the year the club receives points. The club with the most points wins. The Agronomy Club will hold the Top Option Club trophy for one year.
