Maria Mateos Hernandez
Maria joined Purdue in March of 2010
to work as a Post Doc in the Maize Program under Professor Torbert Rocheford.
Her main research focused on the Genetic Architecture of the Maize
Inflorescence. In 2013 she became a Research Geneticist working in the same program.
Maria's interest is the understanding of the intricate relationships of genes
affecting quantitative traits and their effect in yield and their application
in plant breeding. She worked at CIMMYT and Pioneer before joining Purdue. She obtained her PhD from Kansas State University.
