President, Elanco Animal Health
Jeff Simmons was named president of Elanco Animal Health, the animal health division of Eli Lilly and Company, in April 2008. He is a member of the company's senior management council.
Simmons received a bachelor's degree in agricultural economics and marketing from Cornell University in 1989.
Simmons joined the sales team with Lilly in 1989. He has held numerous positions over the last 19 years within Elanco, including executive director of global strategy, operations and research and development; area director, Western Europe, based in the United Kingdom; and country director for Brazil, located in Sao Paulo. He has managed Elanco's international marketing for cattle and poultry and has also held other marketing and sales management positions in Elanco's domestic and international areas.
Simmons has taken special initiative in studying the areas of capitalizing on agricultural trends and of change leadership and the disciplines of execution in the agricultural sector. He is a member of the Animal Health Institute's executive committee and serves on the board of directors. He is also a member of Harvard's PAPSAC committee (Private and Public, Scientific, Academic, and Consumer Food Policy Council) and the FFA Sponsors Board.
