Research
Dr. Pasternak's work is largely focused on swine, as both a highly valued component in animal agriculture and a potential large animal model for issues related to human health. He used a combination of classical and high throughput molecular techniques to better understand the physiology of reproduction with a particularly in diseases that compromise pregnancy in livestock. The overarching goal is to understand the processes which lead to reproductive failure and develop tools to reduce their impact on animals and producers.
