21 Questions for Erin Will

1. What is your hometown? Poseyville, IN Will at Vet School
(Fun Fact: Poseyville is the self-proclaimed "Watermelon Capitol of the World.")

2. Where did you go to high school? North Posey High School

3. What is your major/concentration? Animal Sciences - Pre-Veterinary Medicine (Purdue Veterinary Scholar)

4. What is your expected graduation date? May 2020

5. Why did you choose Purdue for undergrad? I really got to know and love campus during several trips for 4-H and FFA; and, it's the best place for Agriculture and a great pre-vet program.

6. What are your plans after graduation? Attend Purdue Vet School and specialize in large animal medicine with a dairy focus

7. What is your 'spirit animal?' Cat

8. What is your favorite organization joined at Purdue? Dairy Club

9. What is your proudest achievement while at Purdue? Winning the Outstanding Freshman in Animal Sciences Award, and earning a 4.0 GPA first semester aWill with Dairy Calft Purdue

10. What has been your favorite class taken at Purdue? ANSC 102 - Introduction to Animal Agriculture with Dr. John Patterson - really like going to the farms and getting to tour all units.

11. What is your favorite Purdue tradition? The Old Oaken Bucket Football Game

12. What is the best thing about the College of Ag? It's really easy to meet new people, everyone is nice, and people share a similar mentality.

13. What is the best thing about the Department of Animal Sciences? It feels like a family atmosphere and you know people are here to help you succeed. Getting to know the people in the department makes a big campus feel a lot smaller.

14. What is the best on-campus study spot? The 3rd and 4th floor of Lilly Library - it's very quiet and no distractions

15. What is your favorite place in town? HotBox Pizza or the Loeb Fountain

16. What is the most important thing you've learned outside of the classroom? Time management and how to work efficiently

17. Where do you hope to study abroad? In Ireland or New Zealand during spring of junior year

18. What internships/research activities have you participated in? Will in group
  • November 2016 - Present: Work with the quality manager and alongside vets and pathology residents at the Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory
19. What is your favorite quote? "There is no substitute for hard work." -Thomas Edison

20. What are your hobbies? Showing dairy cows in the summer, spending time with family, reading, playing walleyball, and geocaching

21. What advice would you give to incoming students? Don't be afraid to try something new. Meet a new person every day or every week.
