Welcome to the Book Harmon Leadership Program

The Book Harmon Leadership Program is designed to help Purdue Animal Sciences students fulfill their leadership potential by providing forums, resources, funding, and other programs that support leadership development within the industry.

The Book Harmon Leadership Program was founded in 2005 to promote leadership in Purdue students studying Animal Sciences. The program is currently run by Elizabeth Byers-Doten.

The major focus of the program is on a leadership forum, where a distinguished animal sciences professional visits Purdue to speak to students and present on their field and specific leadership topics. The forum occurs once a semester and involves a presentation and several meet-and-greet opportunities.

The program also includes a library of leadership materials, scholarships, and has connections to leadership courses and industry networking. Overall, the mission of the program is to foster leadership in students through inspiring members of the industry, and then provide the resources and funds for students to pursue their goals.
