Todd J. Applegate -
Poultry Nutritional Physiology Laboratory
My name is Xixi and I’m from a small city in Sichuan, China. My interest in animal science started early from family impact and never goes away. I received my bachelor’s degree in animal science from Purdue University in 2010, and two years later received my M.S. degree from University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign. I am now a first year Ph.D student in Dr. Applegate’s lab, with a focus on poultry nutrition. My current projects focus on mycotoxins assessment, their effects on poultry growth and health, and the potential positive effects of mycotoxin-binders. With a firm career goal of developing and advancing the understanding and technologies in the field of poultry nutrition, I hope I can be well prepared through hardworking and make my contribution to the international poultry production industry one day.
