Megan, Becca, and Amy on PEI

Megan, Becca, and Amy exploring PEI before the conference

The Gaskill Lab had a lot of fun this year attending the International Society for Applied Ethology International Conference in Prince Edward Island, Canada. Dr. Brianna Gaskill, Megan LaFollette, and Rebecca Smith attended from our current lab. We also met up with former graduate student Amy Robinson-Junker. Even more, we saw our academic great grandmother Dr. Georgia Mason.

Highlights from the conference included:

Teaching a rat tickling workshop to some of the great scientists in animal welfare — including Dr. Georgia Mason and Dr. Marek Spinka!

Giving talks on rat tickling dosage, piglet euthanasia, and mouse aggression!

Networking and having fun with our ethology colleagues at the various receptions, talks, and even conference excursions.

And, of course, learning about the latest science in applied animal behavior!
