Travel, travel, travel

The fall semester has been quite busy with lots of travel for my graduate students and I. We all started the semester by attending the ISAE conference in Bergen Norway. Then traveled all over the US with Megan training people how to tickle rats for her final thesis project. We got to meet a lot of fabulous people dedicated to improving laboratory animal welfare AND play with some adorable rats. The picture to the left is of Megan holding our favorite rat, Frannie. She loved being tickled so much that she made happy vocalizations with barely a touch!

Then I went to DC for a board meeting and finished out the semester traveling with Amanda. We were in Denver for the National AALAS meeting and were able to find time to sneak out for an afternoon hike. I wish we’d had more time to enjoy the mountains but work was calling and I had to finish my talk! While it was a whirlwind tour I must say I’m happy to be home! We have lots of fun and exciting work to do
