E.G.G Program

Curriculum information

Poultry and egg production is an important part of agriculture and food production in the United States, especially in the Midwest. This website contains research-based, online STEM curriculum resources focused on the egg industry for elementary and high school students.

With major funding provided by The U.S. Poultry & Egg Association and the United States Department of Agriculture, this standards-based, independent-learning online curriculum has been tested and reviewed in classrooms across the Midwest.

On this site you will find teacher resources and poultry lesson plans – specifically egg – developed by national award-winning educators from Purdue University. The curriculum explores the production of poultry and eggs and the science behind it, while also introducing students to animal welfare measures and technologies used to efficiently raise poultry.

Additional curriculum about other segments of poultry industry is planned for the future, including ducks and turkeys.
