 General Information

Dr. Pilat's field of expertise in Education and Human Development focuses on adolescent development within a community context. Her work centers around social justice issues faced by youth in today's society such as teenage pregnancy, juvenile justice, interpersonal violence prevention (i.e. CARe: Communities Against Rape Initiative), and substance abuse (i.e. SATURN) among others. Through a 100% extension and service appointment, Dr. Pilat seeks to: engage appropriate organization partners; tap new funding sources; create innovative programs; analyze and implement existing youth oriented programs; each under-served populations experiencing personal crisis and social stigma. These programs are being conducted nationally and internationally.
