History of Agricultural Education at Purdue University

 

Although organized classes of agriculture were being taught in Indiana high schools as early as 1906, the first hire of an individual to prepare agriculture teachers at Purdue was not until 1912. Samuel S. Cromer, became the second hire in the Department of Education and the first for Agricultural Education.
