Hi, I'm Siwen Wang from Hebei, China. I received my B.S. in Life Sciences from China Agricultural University and then I studied in the Molecular and Cell Biology Program at University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) for one year.
I entered the graduate program in the Department of Biochemistry at Purdue University in the fall 2011. I chose this program because there are many research projects going on here which I'm very interested in. I also like the small size of the department, which creates an excellent collaborative atmosphere and a good student-to-professor ratio. In addition, the program offers many opportunities to teach so I can enhance my teaching skills.
After rotating in three labs during my first year, I joined the Tran lab in the spring of 2012. Now I am studying the role of Dbp2 in transcription regulation.
In my spare time, I like painting and drawing.
