Hi, I am Funmi Adebesin from Nigeria. I got my B.S. in biochemistry from Abilene Christian University located in Texas in 2011. My research background includes enzyme characterization, peptide chemistry and transcription in budding yeast.
I chose to pursue my graduate studies in the Department of Biochemistry at Purdue University because I liked the small size of the department and the warm interactions that I had during the interview process. I also liked the variety of research projects available to students in this program. Most importantly, the faculty interest in the progress of their students was an essential factor that influenced my decision to attend Purdue University.
I joined the Department of Biochemistry graduate program in fall 2011 and after doing three rotations my first year, I joined Dr. Natalia Dudareva's lab in spring 2012.
In my free time, I enjoy watching TV and soccer and playing video games.
