Winter Stonefly

Stoneflies live in water - streams or rivers - and may hatch at several times of the year. The warm days that we have been experiencing, undoubtedly triggered an emergence of this insect. Stoneflies will disappear just a quickly as they arrived. I would guess that you will not see them for longer than a week or so. They are not considered pests because they do not enter homes (except by accident) and do not feed on or damage valuables (furnishings or plants). No controls are recommended at this time.
