She grew up on a family farm in Shumway, IL, and received her B.S. in Crop, Soil, and Environmental Science from Southern Illinois University in 2023. Emma&#8217;s research focuses on the metabolic interactions between salicylic acid, a plant stress hormone, and synthetic auxin herbicides.
