About Dunes Learning Center:
Dunes Learning Center (DLC) is the nonprofit education partner of Indiana Dunes National Park, dedicated to inspiring curiosity and stewardship of the natural world. Since 1998, DLC has connected over 175,000 students from diverse backgrounds to the wonders of nature, fostering a lifelong appreciation for science and conservation. Building on a century-old tradition of ecological education, DLC continues to be a leader in environmental education in the Indiana Dunes region.

Available Positions for 2025
  • Environmental Education Fellowship
    • Start Date: June 2025
    • Details:
      • Develop skills in naturalist training, outdoor education, and resource interpretation in partnership with the National Park Service. Fellows will educate children and adults about ecosystems, flora and fauna, and cultural history in Indiana Dunes National Park and the southern Lake Michigan region.
    • Requirements: College degree or comparable experience.
    • Perks: Housing included.

  • Outreach Education Fellowship
    • Start Date: June 2025
    • Details:
      • Hone your outdoor education skills by delivering impactful programs to over 5,000 students across Northwest Indiana. Fellows will work online, in schools, and in natural areas, fostering connections, confidence, and environmental stewardship.
    • Requirements: College degree or comparable experience.
    • Perks: Housing included.
  • Cabin Leader
    • Start Date: June 2025
    • Details:
      • Lead summer camp experiences in the heart of the dunes! Cabin Leaders supervise campers during meals, evening activities, and overnight, creating lasting memories through campfires, hikes, and more. Days (9 AM–4 PM) are free for personal activities.
    • Requirements: Enrolled college students.
    • Perks: Housing included.
