Overview:
KCI seeks an entry-level Environmental Scientist in Training to support stream and wetland restoration across Indiana. Based in Indianapolis, this seasonal role (April–October) involves field monitoring, vegetation restoration, invasive species management, data collection, and report writing, with frequent overnight travel.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor ecological restoration sites and conduct surveys
  • Manage invasive species and restore vegetation
  • Collect and document field data; prepare reports
  • Engage with drone conservation services as needed
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Environmental Science, Biology, or related field
  • Knowledge of invasive species and native species identification
  • Ability to navigate rugged terrain and hike off-trail
  • Valid driver’s license; herbicide applicator license (or ability to obtain)
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate is a plus
  • Must pass pre-employment drug screening, background, and vehicle checks

Schedule:
Seasonal position with extensive overnight travel (typically Monday–Thursday).
