The Governor's Summer Internship Program
Are you a college student eager to gain real-world experience in state government? The Governor's Summer Internship (GSI) program, established in 1989, offers a unique opportunity for bright and motivated students to work closely with state officials and agencies, developing skills that prepare them for future success.
What Makes the GSI Program Special?
Engaging Work Experience: Interns dedicate 50% of their time to a major project that builds their college-level skills, with the other half focused on meetings and administrative tasks.
Broad Participation: Students from diverse fields such as engineering, business, communications, agriculture, and more are encouraged to apply.
Co-Curricular Learning: Bi-weekly cohort activities include professional development, networking, and exposure to the various facets of state government.
Enriching Experiences Include:
- Panel discussions with state leaders.
- Professional development seminars.
- Volunteering opportunities and more.
Applicants must:
- Be enrolled in an accredited educational institution (e.g., colleges, universities, vocational schools, or advanced degree programs).
