Youth Tree Team (YTT) Leader – Seasonal Part-Time
Pay: $17/hour

About the Role:
Join Keep Indianapolis Beautiful (KIB) as a Youth Tree Team (YTT) Leader and help lead a team of high school students in caring for newly planted trees across Indianapolis. This summer job skills program focuses on urban forestry, leadership, and environmental stewardship.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and motivate an 11-person high school crew.
- Lead tree maintenance (watering, mulching, staking) in parks, neighborhoods, and medians.
- Safely transport crew to worksites using a 15-passenger van with a trailer.
- Ensure worksite safety and resolve conflicts as needed.
- Track and report daily work progress.
- Participate in training and enrichment activities with youth and fellow leaders.
- Training: May 19-22 & May 27-29 (9 AM – 3 PM)
- Work Season: June 2 – July 17 (Mon-Thurs with youth, Fri with co-leaders)
- 30-40 hours/week (Lunch provided)
- Minimal absences allowed (<4 days)
- Must be 19+ years old with an interest in youth development & environmental work.
- Valid driver’s license (6 points or fewer).
- Ability to lift 50 lbs., work outdoors, and handle long hours on foot.
- Willingness to learn tree maintenance practices and drive a trailer.
- Energetic, motivated, and team-oriented.
- Passion for learning and environmental stewardship.
- Strong decision-making and leadership skills.
