Dr. Greg Curler,
a Visiting Scholar with the department, was recently appointed as a Research Collaborator for the

Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C.  As a Research Collaborator, Greg is currently assisting the Walter Reed Biosystematics Unit staff by curating the Psychodidae (moth flies and sand flies) deposited in the United States National Museum of Natural History.  This project dovetails with Greg's ongoing taxonomic revisions of Nearctic and Oriental Psychodidae.

The appointment is for three years effective May 15, 2013.  The title of Research Collaborator is awarded to individuals who maintain a formal scholarly affiliation with the Museum.
