Entomology is the science that is concerned with insects and related organisms. Entomologists have many varying interests and careers and work with insects to answer questions about nature, the environment, and plant and animal interactions. Entomologists work in the lab, the field, forests, wetlands, aquatic environments, and the educational arena.

The Department of Entomology at Purdue University prepares you to be at the forefront of your chosen career by giving you a solid background in the sciences, enabling you to serve the citizens of Indiana and address the needs of the nation and the world. In addition to your entomology program, you will have the chance to become involved in student organizations, cricket spitting and cockroach racing at the annual Bug Bowl, and other fun and exciting departmental and university activities.
