 ogical Insights"\n\nDr. Phuong Dao is a remote sensing and geospatial scie
 ntist and plant ecologist whose research seeks to understand how plants re
 spond to biotic and abiotic stress across scales\, from leaves to landscap
 es. His work integrates remote sensing\, biochemical measurements\, biolog
 ical modeling\, and machine learning to translate spectral observations in
 to biological insights. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Depa
 rtment of Integrative Biology at The University of Texas at Austin. Prior 
 to joining UT Austin\, he was an Assistant Professor at Colorado State Uni
 versity and a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Wisconsin?Madiso
 n and the NSF ASCEND Biology Integration Institute. He earned a dual Ph.D.
  in Physical Geography and Environmental Studies from the University of To
