Outdoor Explore!

A free, annual, all-ages event held on the 2nd Saturday of June in Tippecanoe County (Indiana) which allows participants to try a wide range of outdoor activities.

After 2 years, we are excited to welcome you back to our event!
“Outdoor Explore!: A Beyond Your Backyard Sampler" is a free, all-ages community event that strives to connect people with a wide range of outdoor pursuits through participatory activities at booths staffed by experts in their outdoor hobby.

The event takes place at two venues, the Tippecanoe County Amphitheater in West Lafayette and Bicentennial Nature Area in Lafayette (just a 10 minute drive distant from the main venue).
 
ROAD CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: The Tippecanoe County Amphitheater has road closures on St. Rd. 43 North both north and south of the Amphitheater entrance. The only way to access the entrance is from the west via Soldier's Home Rd. Plan your route accordingly.
 
Events at the Amphitheater include: Climbing Wall (small fee); Disc Golf; Archery; Astronomy; Indiana Master Naturalist; Canine Sports; Forestry; Walking Sticks; Bee Keeping; Bicycle Test Drive, Maintenance, and Mountain Biking; Tent Camping and Glamping; Leave No Trace; Nature Inspired Art; Outdoor Photography; Yoga in Nature; Geocaching; Gibson’s Shaved Ice; and FREE Weinie Roast/
 
Events at Bicentennial Nature Area Include: Fishing and Fish Filleting & Frying; Canine Water Rescue and Canine Water Retrieval; Paddle Sports and Sailing; Birding; Water Safety; Wind Surfing; Animal Tracking/
 
Come see Lenny Farlee, sustainable hardwood extension specialist with Purdue Forestry & Natural Resources (FNR), sharing tips in forestry at Amphitheater and Megan Gunn, recruitment and outreach specialist with Purdue FNR, leading the animal tracking session at Bicentennial.
