National Public Lands Day
A signature event of the National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF), NPLD is the nation's largest single-day volunteer event for public lands. NPLD is also a “Fee-Free Day”—one of only five days a year when entrance fees are waived at national parks and other public lands.
Every year, NEEF coordinates NPLD with support from federal and state agency partners, corporate sponsors, and nonprofit organizations. NPLD not only encourages volunteering but also strengthens the connection between people and the environment, educates and cultivates environmental stewards, and ensures that our public lands are resilient natural spaces for people and wildlife for generations to come.
