Remote Sensing in Agricultural Research Webinar Three: Advanced Sensor Technologies, Drone Tradeoffs, and Future Trends in Remote Sensing

We are excited to invite you to the Fall 2024 Remote Sensing in Agricultural Research Webinar Series, presented by Purdue University Plant Sciences in collaboration with GRYFN. This series will provide researchers, students, and industry professionals with essential insights into the latest advancements in remote sensing technologies and their applications in agricultural research.

Webinar 3: Advanced Sensor Technologies, Drone Tradeoffs, and Future Trends in Remote Sensing

    • Date: October 22, 2024 | Time: 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM EST
    • Rule #3: Graduate Level Rule #1 and Rule #2 review.

This final session will delve into the technologies and advanced trends in remote sensing. We will examine a variety of sensors, including RGB, multispectral, thermal, hyperspectral, LiDAR, radar, and more, discussing their applications and tradeoffs. Advanced positioning, calibration, and other sophisticated concepts will be introduced, with a focus on GRYFN's approaches and solutions as a case study for the utility and value of advanced systems. We will also cover drone-specific considerations such as economics, policy/regulation, lift capacity, autonomy, ROI, and the decision between owning versus outsourcing drone services. Finally, we'll look ahead to future developments, including advances in autonomy, ease of use, and the economic impacts of remote sensing in agricultural research.
