EDEN Learning Opportunities

Plant Biosecurity Management Course, 2006 Edition
Designed for Extension advisors, agents, and specialists who understand the urgency of plant protection and will have the opportunity to teach plant biosecurity management to those involved in the U.S. agricultural sector.

Ready Business Course
Designed for Land Grant University specialists, Cooperative Extension Service educators and/or volunteers located in counties around the United States. This course is intended for people interested in helping small- and medium-sized businesses survive potential disaster.

Pandemic Preparedness Course
Designed for Land Grant University specialists, Cooperative Extension Service educators and/or volunteers located in counties around the United States. This course is intended for people interested in helping small- and medium-sized businesses survive a potential pandemic.

OnGuard: Protecting America's Food System Course
Designed to be taught at the local level by Extension educators and specialists, this course was created for the general public to help them better understand their role in food protection.

USDA's Roles in the National Response Plan Course
Designed for Extension educators, agents, and program leaders to share with other USDA audiences. This course will provide Extension professionals with a better understanding of USDA's roles, and Extension's role, in this plan.

Animal Agrosecurity and Emergency Management
An online course designed to educate Extension personnel, first responders, agribusiness managers, farmers, etc. about animal agrosecurity and emergency management. Supplemental materials enable Extension educators to teach these principles in the field to animal industry stakeholders and emergency responders.

National Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)
This program educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.

Citizen Corps
Citizen Corps was created to help all Americans answer questions like, "What can I do?"" and "How can I help?" through public education and outreach, training, and volunteer service.

Indiana Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (INVOAD)
The purpose of INVOAD is to bring together voluntary organizations active in disaster services to foster more effective response to the people of Indiana in times of disaster.

The Emergency Management Institute (EMI)
Through its courses and programs, EMI serves as the national focal point for the development and delivery of emergency management training to enhance the capabilities of federal, state, local and tribal government officials, volunteer organizations, and the public and private sectors to minimize the impact of disasters on the American public.

Indiana Dept. of Homeland Security: Division of Training
IDHS provides local training around the state covering various topics, such as emergency management and search and rescue.
