Requirements for Extension Educators


  • A Master's degree with academic training and/or professional experience relevant to the general and specific responsibilities of the position.
  • Candidates may apply if they are within the semester or quarter of receiving the Master's degree-any position offered would be conditional upon graduation.

  • Knowledge of basic educational methods.

  • Ability to work with diverse audiences and stakeholders, both youth and adults.
  • Understands the concepts of empowerment and building capacity in local communities.
  • Knowledge/skill with computer technology in preparing presentations, data analysis and retrieval, word processing, email and internet applications.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours (evenings and weekends) and must furnish personal transportation.
  • Willing to grow professionally and change as new needs and opportunities arise.
