Wildlife Management Workshop for Landowners

Are you interested in managing your property for wildlife?  If so, the the Department of Foresty and Natural Resources at Purdue University has a rogram for you!Wildlife Management for the Private Landowner is an 8-week workshop designed to provide landowners an introduction to wildlife ecology, a history of the North American Model for Conservation, wildlife biology, habitat management planning and Turkeystechniques, and how to access information and assistance with wildlife management goals.  Specific topics will include the biology and management of white-tailed deer, wild turkey, pheasants, quail, rabbits, and doves.  Other topics will provide information on how to restore and manage forests, grasslands, and wetlands, and an introduction to prescribed burning.  Topics will be presented by natural resources professionals from the Indiana Division of Fish and Wildlife, Indiana Division of Forestry, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, and Purdue University.

The cost for the workshop is $100.00 per person and includes a binder for handouts, a CD with resource materials and publications geared to course topics, and refreshments. There will be two Saturday field days that demonstrate and reinforce classroom discussions.  The workshop will be held every Thursday night from 6:00 – 9:00pm beginning September 26th and ending November 14th. The first night will be in Room 216 of the Forestry Building on the Purdue University Campus. The remaining nights will meet at the John S.
