Professor Rick Meilan
with the Department of Forestry and Natural Resources, receives 2014 TEAM Award as part of the Center for Direct Catalytic Conversion of Biomass to Biofuels, C3Bio.org

Dr. Meilan's active research projects include efforts to insert genes that control flowering, as a means of transgene confinement; insect (Emerald Ash Borer) resistance; herbicide tolerance; and lignin composition. His research also includes the study of determining the viability of poplar species as an ethanol feedstock and cash crop for Indiana farmers.
