FOUR-YEAR CAREER PLAN – ARE YOU ON TRACK?
Attached is the Four-Year Career Plan that was given during STAR. There are things that you can be doing each semester to move you toward your career goals.  If you need assistance with any item on this list, please don’t hesitate to make an appointment with Shelly Opperman by calling the FNR Office of Student Services (765-494-3591).  If you worked over the summer, or have a new position this fall, be sure to update your résumé with the knowledge, skills and abilities that you learned and demonstrated on the job.

FNR CAREER RESOURCES ON THE WEB
In addition to the job postings that you can find on-line, FNR has placed multiple career service links for your use online.  Browse through the FNR Career Services pages to find links to job search sites, state employment links, and many more other valuable pages.

WILDLAND FIRE TRAINING CALL-OUT MEETING
September 15, 2015 / 6:00 p.m. / Deans Auditorium
Plan to attend this information session about the Basic Wildland Firefighting (Red Card) Training course.  Mr. Steve Creech will be leading the information session to answer your questions and prepare you for the December 6, 2015 training.  Here is some information about the Course:
The basic course is designed for entry-level personnel with little or no formal training in wildland fire suppression. The courses provide the basic knowledge and skills necessary to become qualified as a wildland firefighter. The curriculum includes: wildfire terminology and effects of fuel, weather, and topography on wildland fire. Fireline safety; fireline construction; helicopter safety; fire physics and an introduction to the Incident Command System, the use of basic firing equipment such as fuses and drip torches; and an introduction to wildland tools, pumps, engines, and hoses will all be covered during the field days. Some prerequisite training may apply.
This is an excellent opportunity for continuing education and acquiring another certification to build your skills and knowledge.  ~flyer and registration form for the training course are attached.
