March 2021 Turkey Sandwich Recalls

Within the month of  March 2021 the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) released a recall involving various brands of turkey sandwiches. The main brands involved in the recall are MG Foods and Fresh to You. These sandwiches are bein recalled because they could be contaminated with listeria. Listeria is a bacteria that can cause an infection called Listeriosis. The most common symptoms of listeriosis include fever, chills, nausea, and diarrhea, although the infection can become more serious in pregnant women, young children, and elderly citizens. These symptoms can either occur within a couple of days or up to a month from when the contaminated food was consumed. The most common way to become infected by Listeria is be consuming contaminated deli meat or dairy products. Listeria can also survive freezing and refrigeration.

This product was distributed between March 3rd and March 5th, 2021. The products were also packaged in clear plastic wedge containers and paper bags. The states involved in the recall include Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and West Virginia.

If a consumer has purchased this product, the company advises that it should not be consumed. The company suggests that the product be disposed of immediately.
