Dr. Betty Bugusu is the
Managing Director of Purdue University’s International Food Technology Center
housed in the Department of Food Science. The Center’s focus is to develop and
use food technologies to enhance food security and economic development in
developing countries. She is responsible for the all aspects of the Center
including personnel, budget, projects, and internal/external communications.
Her key roles include developing priorities and strategic plans for the Center,
establishing liaisons and partnerships with other stakeholders, both domestic
and international in the area of food security, overseeing on-going food
security-related projects, and fundraising for the Center.
