Katie currently serves as the Food Science Extension Outreach Specialist for the Department of Food Science located on Purdue's main campus in West Lafayette, Indiana. In her role, Katie is the main point of contact for food entrepreneurs across the state assisting with one-on-one technical questions and testing for entrepreneurs wanting to start a food business in Indiana. Katie is a member of the New Ventures team, which is a joint effort with Purdue's Department of Agricultural Economics, providing guidance on marketing, business plan development, food manufacturing regulations, and food safety. Katie is also developing a variety of online course materials. Katie has experience in beverage development, flavor applications, and meat processing from her past positions with Sensient Flavors, Diageo Beverage, Purdue Boilermaker Butcher Block, and Pig Improvement Company.
