Anna
Hayes is a Ph.D. student in Dr. Bruce Hamaker’s lab group in the Department of
Food Science at Purdue University. She earned a B.S. in Foods and Nutrition -
Science and a B.A. in Spanish from St. Catherine University in St. Paul, MN.
She has completed internships in the inorganic chemistry lab at Minnesota
Valley Testing Laboratories in New Ulm, MN and in R&D at Michael Foods in
Gaylord, MN. Her current Ph.D. research focuses on elucidating the locational
delivery of carbohydrates in the small intestine and on determining the effects
of particle size and viscosity on carbohydrate metabolism.
