Name: Chelsea Maupin
Major: Sustainable Food and Farming Systems
Graduation date: May 2018
Interests and hobbies: I like gardening, hiking, swing dancing, cooking, baking artisan bread, singing, traveling/study abroad.
Campus involvement: Purdue Student Farm Organization- Secretary Fall 2015-Spring 2016, President Fall 2016, Purdue Night Train Swing Dance Club, Purdue Outing Club, Purdue Convocations Voice Network
Plans after college: After college, I hope to work with connecting people more closely with where their food comes from, as well as educate on ways to use and enjoy fresh, healthy produce. I also hope to connect local farmers with markets in order to have stable, sufficient sales. I’m interested in being involved with urban agriculture.
Without the help of financial aid, I would not be able to be as involved in the Purdue community or have access to so many great experiences and opportunities. I am able to afford focusing on my studies and building communities of my peers, for which I am extremely grateful.
