File Storage

To access the HLA File Server you must be connected to Purdue's network.  If you are off-campus or on wireless you must first make a VPN connection to access the file server.

Students have access to shared folders (LA_students, Hort_Students) on the hlafileserver. These are open shared folders and you may create and delete folders within.  Warning:  these are shared folders that others have access to, Do Not expect anything saved here to be sacred. If you require more security consult the HLA IT Dept.

Students start the year with a 400 mb quota on the file server, more can be requested with legitimate reasons. The quota is per user. It is not dependent on where you put the files. If you save a file it goes against your quota. It is up to you to remember where you saved your files.

Access to the HLA File Server From Windows:

Start > Run > \\hlafileserv.hort.purdue.edu
At the authentication pop up box enter >

PRINTING

HLA Departmental Lab Computers should have every printer you have access to installed automatically.  If you are using your own computer and connected via VPN or PAL use the following method(s) to connect to our print server:

Method 1 - EASIEST

The easiest method to print from your personal computer (Windows and Mac) is to upload the document to our print server via this website:  http://printers.hort.purdue.edu.  Simply login using your career account username and password and click "Web Print".   Unfortunately, you will not be able to print to the large format printers with this option.
