Purdue announces new employment system
Purdue University will begin using a new employment application system as of October 1, 2007. In preparation for transitioning to the new system, called Taleo, we need to bring closure to jobs that are now posted in our current employment system (Resumix). To manage the cut-over process better, we will use the following schedule.

September 13, 2007: Last day to post a job on the Purdue Web site using our current Resumix employment system.

September 20, 2007: Last day when applicants can access the current Employment Web site to submit a resume or a referral request (until the cut-over to Taleo is complete).

September 21, 2007: Date when supervisors will receive their last group of resumes for any job posted on or before September 13, 2007.

October 1, 2007: The first posting of jobs in the new Taleo employment system, and the first day when applicants will have access again to the Employment Web site for submitting resumes and referral requests.
To help hiring supervisors efficiently manage this process, Human Resource Services – Employment is offering the following options:
For Jobs Posted On or Before September 13, 2007:

If the job has a good applicant pool, and you are satisfied with the resumes you have received, you may opt to remove your position from the job posting on or before September 20, 2007. In this case, your position will be filled using the old Resumix system, and you will receive no additional resumes.

If the job cannot be filled with the current applicant pool, the job will still need to be closed in the old system on or before September 20, 2007. However, you may opt to have the position re-opened in the new Taleo employment system on October 1, 2007. You will not be required to submit new posting forms, and you will receive new resumes five business days after October 1.
For Job Postings Received After September 13, 2007:

Jobs will be posted in the new system on October 1, 2007. You will receive new resumes after five business days.
During the time between September 13 and October 1, Employment will be working closely with hiring managers to discuss their applicant pools, close their positions in Resumix, and transfer jobs to the new Taleo system. We will also be entering jobs received after September 13 and communicating with applicants about the new system and the process for applying.

Taleo will bring an intuitive and user-friendly employment system for both applicants and hiring supervisors. And it will provide enhanced customer communication and electronic data collection capabilities. We are excited about the benefits the University will reap from Taleo, and we thank you in advance for your cooperation during our transition period.
